Alpine city adventure trail
With the award for "Alpine Town of the Year" given in 2005 by an international jury, the city's efforts to achieve sustainable development Sonthofen in the Alpine Convention were appreciated.
As part of this commitment was also born in 2005, the "Alpine city adventure trail" that connects the urban area with the alpine nature reserve Allgäu High Alps. Following the motto "The journey is the reward" is therefore informative and playful understanding of the needs of nature created and linked with adventure and relaxation.

Initiated, planned and implemented was the project of citizens of Sonthofen, the City of Sonthofen, local kindergartens and schools, the area supervisor of the nature reserve Allgäu High Alps, the friends of nature, the agenda-group of the city and local artists and businesses.
There have been built three independently walkable and yet interconnected path sections, which are leading to the stations, which show the city's history and inform about the animal and plant life, or invite for rest and relaxation.
Numerous game and adventure elements and a children's corner on the information boards ensure that also the little walkers do not get bored.
